TELEPSYCHOLOGY & ONLINE THERAPY BASED IN DENVER,CO

Online Therapy Denver, CO

A bit about my telepsychology practice

I began developing my skill set to provide telepsychology (online therapy) services during my doctoral training.  I initially became intrigued as I learned about the lack of mental healthcare providers in smaller towns, thereby causing extremely long waitlists or little ability for people to select a provider.  My passion for delivering online therapeutic services grew after connecting with patients who wouldn’t otherwise be able to make it to my practice.  Increasing accessibility to provide mental healthcare to a wider range of people continues to be something I feel very passionate about.

I strictly adhere to the APA’s guidelines Guidelines for the Practice of Telepsychology and take seriously a treatment plan that we create together.

I maintain an active E. Passport license from ASPPB to practice interjurisdictional telepsychology (APIT) through PSYPACT, so that I can provide excellent clinical services if you or your loved one lives in the following states:

I use DrChrono, a HIPAA compliant, cloud-based electronic medical record system that conveniently allows us to freely exchange information (i.e. PHI including treatment resources and homework ), and communicate about your treatment through email.  Additionally, online scheduling and follow-up reminders offered through my online platform make creating or changing your telepsychology appointments seamless for remote treatment.

How The Online Therapy Process Works

First, we will have a brief phone conversation where we schedule your initial 80-minute teleconsultation.  During this first conversation I gather some basic demographic information about you from which I create a patient profile for you.  You will then be invited to the patient portal and upon accepting my invitation, you will receive a few onboarding documents to complete.   In addition, I will send you a zoom invitation through your patient portal providing you with a link that will enable us to “meet” during our scheduled date/time.

While I would like to meet you in-person to conduct the clinical intake, it is not a necessary requirement of mine.  However, should I determine that it is important for us to meet in person, we will discuss the feasibility of this.  Likewise, after completing our initial evaluation (remotely or in-person), we can discuss if telepsychology is a good fit for you.

After the initial interview we will discuss any questions you might have surrounding online therapy and my clinical impressions including diagnosis, goal-setting, expected length of treatment, frequency of meetings, and any barriers that might arise.  From there we will schedule our next zoom meeting.

I understand that there are many barriers to receiving mental health treatment in person and how difficult it can be to maintain weekly in-person meetings, therefore I am pleased to listen to your story and provide services that coincide with your needs.  I will prioritize our therapeutic relationship and deliver the same quality clinical care.

I look forward to “meeting” you virtually!
